Summary

To protect fragile, wintering mule deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn antelope, and elk herds, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is closing to motorized use this winter, certain public lands in the Gunnison Basin. This action is in coordination with the Colorado Division of Wildlife's emergency winter feeding program for big game herds in the Gunnison Basin. The BLM and CDOW have cooperatively identified winter feeding areas and procedures, as well as area closures in conjunction with the feeding program.
