Long Title of Project: Assessing plant functional traits and community response to climate change in the Rocky Mountains using a turf transplant experiment Non-technical Abstract: The goal of this study is to learn how plant water relation traits will respond to a warming environment and to continue studying changes in community composition. The turf transplant experiment was established in 2017 by Lorah Seltzer in order to recreate the conditions of a warming, drying climate by transplanting small pieces of turfs from low to high elevations, and vice-versa. We will continue to measure a variety of plant and community characteristics, as well as plant water relations traits, to assess changes to plant functioning and composition to a drying and warming environment.
