Method synopsis
Three-dimensional geological modeling using implicit modeling with radial basis functions to generate subsurface structure. Model incorporates strike, dip, and fault information from geological surveys.
Synthesized from method descriptions across 1 paper using this protocol.
Procedure from a recent peer-reviewed implementation
Created geologic model using Seequent's 3D Leapfrog geological modeling software based on USGS maps at 1:24k and 1:250k scales. Eight geologic units were included divided into six layers using terrain-following grid approach with constant thickness for total thickness of 400 m. Structural discs were assigned to boundaries where strike and dip information was observed and fit to published cross-sections.
