Method synopsis

ABBA-BABA test implementation to detect historical introgression between species using genome-wide SNP data.

Synthesized from method descriptions across 1 paper using this protocol.

Procedure from a recent peer-reviewed implementation

Steps below were extracted from the most recent peer-reviewed implementation of this protocol in the corpus — Evidence for a single, ancient origin of a genus-wide alternative life history strategy (2023), Science Advances. Implementations in other papers (listed below) may differ.

1. Introgression analysis using D-statistics
Calculated D-statistics (ABBA-BABA) for all possible species trios to detect introgression. Used C. lesbia as outgroup. Applied significance threshold of P < 0.05 with Bonferroni-Holm correction. Analyzed 1194 unique trios in total.
Quantities: 1194 unique species trios, all pairwise species comparisonsDuration: Not specifiedConditions: Standard computational analysis
Equipment: Custom D-statistics scripts, ABBA-BABA analysis tools

Typical Equipment
