1. Obtain climate data
   Monthly data provided at 0.5 degree resolution based on the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (CRU) TS3.1 dataset, with a lapse rate adjustment of -6°C/km elevation to account for differences in elevation between the actual study sites and the gridded data.
