1. Provide supplemental feed to treatment groups
   Supplemented 1 matriline with either high-protein horse feed (Omolene 300) or low-protein horse feed (Omolene 100, Purina Mills, LLC, St. Louis, Missouri) at each site. Reference populations were monitored for comparison. The only exception occurred during 1996 when the matriline that was supplemented at River was the only group to produce young.
