One of the most interesting questions that ecologists strive to answer is how and why species diversity and richness amongst organisms varies across geographical regions. Of course, there are multiple possible factors that impact the patterns of species diversity but this study compounds data from high alpine wet regions, to low dry desert planes in order to build a species richness curve for each site. With this compounded data we strive to answer the question: how is species richness correlated to altitude, geographical distance between sites, and annual precipitation rates.
