ABSTRACT: In northeastern Gunnison County, Colorado, the Chaffee Group of Late Devonian age is exposed just northeast of the Uncompahgre uplift. Distribution of clast1c rocks within the predominantly dolostone sequence of the Chaffee Group indicates that clastic sediment was supplied from the area of the Ancestral Front Range highland to the northeast and that the site of the nearby Uncompahgre uplift to the southwest supplied little or no clastic sediment.
