Abstract Production from the Hamilton Creek Field, San Miguel Co, Colorado is the result of interbedded source rocks, reservoirs, and seals that have been folded and faulted into a three-way fault-bound closure, with the Hamilton Creek “B” Fault acting as the primary lateral seal. All pay is located in the footwall of this fault. Cyclic Pennsylvanian marine sedimentation stratifies organic-rich dolomitic shales with chlorite-rich sands, limestones, dolomites, and anhydrites. Fluvio-deltaic sands sourced from the rising Uncompahgre/San Luis Uplift to the northeast spread in pulses across the Hamilton Creek area. Principle production from the field comes from these sands. Structural elevation and reservoir quality are dominant controls on per-well production.
