The town of Saguache, Colorado had a high water table during the irrigation season that caused numerous problems within the town and resulted in high infiltration rates to the sewer system which overloaded the wastewater treatment facilities. An urban subdrainage system lowered the water table from 4 to 6 feet at the midpoint of the drains and the volume of water infiltrating to the sewer system was reduced significantly.
