S3 PRECIPITATION RODEO -- ANALYSIS-READY DATASET This deposit contains the analysis-ready precipitation, meteorological, andevent-level datasets used in "Precipitation Uncertainty in Mountains: A GaugeIntercomparison from the SAIL, SPLASH, and SOS Campaigns" (Hogan et al.,2026). It accompanies the code repository: https://github.com/dlhogan97/S3-precipitation-rodeo This is NOT a copy of raw instrument data. It contains the merged,quality-controlled, and derived products that the analysis code in therepository directly consumes. Raw source data (station downloads, reanalysis, airborne surveys) is publicly archived elsewhere by the original providers --see "Raw data sources and how to obtain them" below. This deposittherefore does not include the ASO GeoTIFFs used in the site variabilitycomparison (03_analysis/08_site_variability.ipynb in the code repository),and it does not include a derived/manipulated ASO product either, because theanalysis code processes the ASO grids in-memory (reprojection, resampling, normalization) to produce a comparison figure without writing a derived fileto disk. To reproduce that portion of the analysis, request the following productsdirectly from the ASO data provider under your own research-use agreement: Product: ASO 50 m SWE (East River / Gunnison basin) Flights used: 2022-04-21 and 2023-04-01 Files used: ASO_Gunnison_EastRiver_2022Apr21_swe_50m.tif, ASO_EastRiver_2023Apr01_swe_50m.tif RAW DATA SOURCES AND HOW TO OBTAIN THEM------------------------------------------ The processed data above is derived from the following publicly archived rawsources. Cite the original providers, not this deposit, for the raw dataitself. - SAIL (Surface Atmosphere Integrated Field Laboratory), Gothic, CO -- ARM Data Discovery. Datastreams used: gucldM1.b1 (laser disdrometer), gucmetM1.b1 (meteorology), gucwbpluvio2M1.a1 (weighing bucket pluviometer), gucxprecipradarsquireS2.c1 (SQUIRE precipitation radar). https://arm.gov/research/campaigns/amf2021sail - SPLASH (Sublimation of Snow field campaign), Kettle Ponds, CO -- https://zenodo.org/communities/splash/records?q=&l=list&p=1&s=10&sort=newest - SOS (Surface Observations for the Study of Snow) / ISFS -- NCAR EOL. https://www.eol.ucar.edu/field_projects/sos - billy barr manual snow/met record, Gothic, CO -- accessed via personal communication. - PRISM -- PRISM Climate Group, Oregon State University, https://prism.oregonstate.edu. - ERA5-Land -- Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), Climate Data Store. - ASO -- see caveat above. Data can be requested from https://ava.airbornesnowobservatories.com/ - SNOTEL -- USDA NRCS National Water and Climate Center for site 680 (Butte), accessed via metloom. REPRODUCING THE ANALYSIS---------------------------- 1. Clone the code repository above.2. Place this dataset under the path the code expects it (/storage/dlhogan/precipitation-rodeo/data/ by default -- see README_DATAFLOW.md in the repository, or update paths as needed): processed_final/ -> data/processed/final/ for_analysis/ -> data/for_analysis/ external/ERA5-Land/ -> data/external/ERA5-Land/ geodata/ -> 01a_data_access/geodata/ (repo-tracked, not under data/)3. Run the notebooks in 03_analysis/ and 04_products/figures/. Note that 08_site_variability.ipynb additionally requires the full PRISM daily archive (not included here -- see PRISM source above) and the ASO GeoTIFFs (see caveat above) to fully reproduce.
